Unconscious Bias is: the split-second, automatic evaluation the brain does to make every-day, as well as complex decisions about people and situations, which at times might be incorrect.

This happens in all organisations where there is human interaction or social engagement. People perceive and view others at times unconsciously and a consequence of this is that there are many lost opportunities where a diverse and divergent point of view is valuable - but because of unconscious bias it is rejected - lost opportunity = lost profitability.
